- Development history:
Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery I Department (now called Department of Upper Limb Surgery and Sports Medecine) formerly known as Department of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery I, which was established in 1954, spent nearly 70 years of forming, growing and developing with the hospital.
Department is one of the key faculties in specialty as well as patient care. With a team of more than 50 staff including Professors, PhD, Doctors, Nurses and skilled staff, dedicated to patients, Department has continued to excel in the tradition of treatment, training and scientific research from previous generations. Every year, Department implements many advanced technologies and techniques to surgery and treatment for patients such as hip replacement, knee joint, shoulder joint, elbow joint, finger joint, knee arthroscopy, shoulder joint , ankle joint, light-up display join combination, combined with locking screw bones, minimally invasive surgery, trauma surgery and sports medicine ..., training for many generations of resident doctors, 1 st degree specialist, 2 nd degree specialist, graduate students and doctoral students ... Along with that, scientific research, directing, international cooperation is also very developed.
- Missions:
4.1. Medical examination and treatment: medical examination, inpatient treatment and intensive surgery for patients suffering from trauma and orthopedic diseases, especially Joint Replacement Surgery, Joint Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine.
4.2. Training: basic and specialized theory and practice on orthopedic surgery for medical students, nurses, specialist doctors, resident doctors, graduate students, doctoral students, foreign students ...
4.3. Scientific research: Organize and participate in scientific research projects at the State, ministerial and hospital levels.
4.4. Directing health activities: training and transferring technology to orthopedic surgery for all levels.
4.5. International cooperation: cooperating with professors and doctors of developed medical countries such as US, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, Japan ... to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for patients.
4.6. Economic management: Strengthening medical services, high-quality care, management of hospital fees.
4.7. Preventive medicine: training and instructing staff as well as patients and relatives on treatment regimen, how to prevent infectious diseases.
