Application of new self- absorption metal materials in orthopedic surgical
Orthopedic trauma surgery has been developing strongly and using metal nail and screws in trauma care such as open surgery with materials placed on fractures, medullary nailing … Along with the development of science and technology, biological materials are gradually replacing traditional materials in surgery to bring safety effects for patients.
With the aim of updating and introducing to colleagues with the new knowledge, useful information on biomedical materials in surgery for bone fracture, Viet Duc University Hospital organized the Seminar “New advances in orthopedic surgery using Magnezix bioabsorbable compression screws”.

Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh – Chief of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery I Department, Deputy chief of Institute of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery; Specialized doctor 2nd degree. Doan Viet Quan – Chief of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery 2, Deputy chief of Institute of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery. Especially with the presence of orthopedic expert from National University Hospital in Singapore, Ass. Prof. Chee Yu – Han.
At the meeting, Ass. Prof. Chee Yu-Han introduced about the use of Magnezix compression screw in bone fracture surgery. With the direct assistance of orthopedic expert from Singapore, during the meeting, the doctors had performed the example surgeries and transmitted the telemedicine for 2 patients with bone fractures by using Magnezix bio-metal metal of Syntellix compression screws – Germany.
Prof. Tran Binh Giang – Director of Viet Duc University Hospital shared: “The successful application of this new material will have more optimal treatment options to improve the quality of life of Vietnamese patients.”.
