Viet Duc University Hospital joins hands to support the people and health sector in Quang Tri province to overcome with the flood damages

The Central Part of country “Mien Trung”  in days of  October must buckling against floods, the long continuous heavy rains affected to some areas, especially: Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Da Nang provinces. By the national tradition of “mutual love”, “ healthy leaves cover torn leaves”, from November 4th to 6th, 2020, Viet Duc University Hospital’s (VDUH) Delegation led by Prof. Tran Binh Giang PhD. – Party Committee Secretary – Director of the Hospital paid visit and donated about 700 millions dong to the people and the health sector in Quang Tri Province to deal with the flood damages, to support productivity recovery and early living stabilization.

 

 Responding to the call of the General Secretary, President, Prime Minister, Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Ministry of Health on collecting donation to support the people at central provinces to deal with the damages due to the rains and floods, on October 20th, 2020, Prof. Tran Binh Giang PhD. – VDUH’s Director called all its health staff and employees with their spirit and responsibilities to actively donate, support and encourage to the people at Mien Trung to deal with the flood’s consequences. VDUH’s Director Board, staff and employees donated at least one day salary to timely encourage and help the people in the flooding areas.

 

 On October 29th, the online meeting between VDUH and Huong Hoa Health Center, Quang Tri Province – one of the central provinces was seriously affecting a historic flood. Right after that, VDUH’s Director Board decided to send one delegation to Quang Tri Province from November 4th  to November 6th, 2020. 

Prof. Tran Binh Giang PhD. – VDUH’s Director immediately decided to arrange the Delegation to support the people as well as health care in Quang Tri Province affecting by serious flood.

At 05:30 am on November 4th, 2020, the Delegation departed from VDUH, went through nearly 700km, arrived Quang Tri Province at 5pm on the same day.

 

 When arriving, the Delegation was supported by the Quang Tri Province’s Department of Health (DOH), Hai Lang District’s Health Center to visit Van Quy Village, Hai Lang District, Quang Tri Province to meet, encourage and give presents to the people there. Prof. Tran Binh Giang PhD. – Director of VDUH gave 100 millions dong to the families affecting by the floods, 20 qualified blankets to the single families at Van Quy Village, at the same time handled many medical equipment such as: sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, electronic thermometer and several medicine to Hai Lang Health Center.

The qualified blankets were given to the single families at Van Quy Village, Hai Lang District, Quang Tri Province.

 

VDUH’s Delegation gave the medical equipment to Hai Lang Health Center.

On November 5th, 2020, the delegates kept moving to Quang Tri Province’s DOH and Huong Hoa Health Center. Prof. Tran Binh Giang PhD. – Director of VDUH donated to Quang Tri Province’s DOH 300 millions dong to restored the health station’s in some districts damaged by flood and 40 warm blankets to the  health staff who live far away from home, also donated many medicines, medical equipment to the Huong Hoa District’s Health Center, Quang Tri Province.

 

By joining the Delegation at Quang Tri Province this time and seeing directly  the nature’s destructions, hard work of people there, Prof. Tran Binh Giang PhD. – VDUH’s Director said: the recent historic continuous floods made Mien Trung submerged in the water; villages, schools, offices, markets, rice fields, houses… were ruined, collapsed. People’s live which are already difficult are now even more difficult. With the feelings and sharing of VDUH to the the people in Quang Tri Province, it is hoped that the people there will soon overcome the consequences of the floods and quickly stabilize their lives.

Under the considerations of VDUH, at the meeting on November 5th, 2020, Mr. Do Van Hung – Member of Provincial Party Committee – Director of Quang Tri Province’s DOH said: It was a the most serious flood since 2009 that they have to face with, that caused a high flooding in many areas in many days. The people and the local staff highly appreciated sharing and supports from VDUH for the healthcare in Quang Tri Province. It is hoped that in the near future, the people here can soon come back to the normal life.

VDUH’s Delegation gave the medical equipment as well as medicines to the Huong Hoa District’s Health Center, Quang Tri Province.

During this meaningful event of VDUH at Quang Tri Province, the Hospital was fully supported by the local top leaders there: Leaders of Quang Tri DOH, Leaders of Quang Tri Health Sector Unions, Leader of Hai Lang Health Center, Leader of Huong Hoa Health Center, Leaders of Van Quy Village.

Annually, VDUH uses to organize the charity program for free health consultation and treatment as well as free medicine to the people in difficult life, to be grateful to those who contributed to the revolution in many provinces and cities across the country. Hopefully, in the time coming, with the cooperation of the whole country, Mien Trung will soon overcome the situation and the people are able to stabilize their lives.
