Over last 20 years, organ transplantation in genereal, at first it was only a dream for the medical colleagues and Vietnamese patients unfortunately suffered from organ failure requiring it’s replacement treatment. This is the first liver transplant from a brain-death person in Vietnam and is also a multi-organ transplant for many patients. According to statistics, nation wide there are around 70 brain death people donate organ, about 55 cases were performed at Viet Duc University Hospital. Most of brain death and organ transplant cases were performed at, while many of provincial hospitals were struggle about this matter. The problem is how to recover the cases of brain death risk, save patients to the maximum extent, when the patients have certain signs of brain death based on their expertise and law, the physician must protect organs to use for transplantation for those who are in need. This is a complicated test. Hence, Viet Duc University Hospital wish to build a network of hospitals receiving and treating potential patients with organ donation after brain death to save many patients’ lives and improve the quality of life of patients.

The extraordinary efforts of Vietnamese physicians who have brought Vietnamese organ transplants to the level of world organ transplantation have fulfilled the dreams of previous generations of physicians. The need for organ transplantation is huge, it is necessary to build a network of information, transport and conduct organ transplantation to open the door to revive many patients.
Millions of people need an organ transplant every year in the world. However, like other countries in the world, the biggest obstacle to organ transplants in Vietnam in the present is lacking of organ donors, especially those who are brain death. Every day there are hundreds of cases of all kinds of injuries, especially cranial injury ask for discharge to die at home. However the number of brain death people donate are very small. This is due to the influence of psychology, religion and belief among the people. In order to further develop the organ transplant industry, it is necessary to do well the communication work, actively propagating and encouraging people to understand and support.
