Another case of hand amputation due to phone explosion while charging

Recently, Viet Duc University Hospital has received a patient names N.T.D (16 years old, Thanh Hoa) hospitalized in the state of multiple wounds from soft parts, maxillofacial, chest, right thigh, crush entire left hand.
According to family members, while using his phone, the battery was out of power, so D. plugged in to a backup charger. He continue using the phone while charging, the phone then exploded, causing serious injury to him.
Shortly thereafter, the young man was quickly transferred to the emergency department by his family members at Viet Duc University Hospital. Dr. Vu Van Khoa, PhD – Orthopedic and Outpatient clinic Department mentions: As the hand had fractures, doctor has performed an emergency amputation of 1/3 under the forearm and treated the wounds.
After surgery, D’s condition was stable. However, he could not help but be worried, shocked due to losing a part of his limbs.
Dr. Vu Van Khoa, PhD shares: Recently, health facilities have received many injuries due to phone explosion during charging. With traumatic injuries caused by explosions, it is very difficult to preserve limb, most of which will require amputation. Therefore, people should not charge and use the phone at the same time, they should use genuine technology products and full safety censorship to avoid unfortunate accidents.
