Viet Duc College of Medicine and Biomedical Equipment: Training on quality management according to ISO 9001:2015

Education is playing an important role in providing knowledge to people, training human resources, fostering creative talents, so the people highly expects  on educational institutions. The current model of education and training is shifting from providing-oriented teaching to learning-on-demand, and the units must also compete with each other if they do not want to be outdated. Comparing with other fields, the results of applying ISO 9001 in education are still limited.

 

Viet Duc University Hospital has just organized a training session with 2 contents: General awareness of quality management system according to ISO 9001: 2015 and Method of developing a quality management document system according to ISO 9001:2015, the lecturer was Mrs. Vu Hong Dan – expert of Vietnam Productivity Institute.

 

Attending the event on behalf of the hospital was Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh – Deputy Director of Viet Duc University Hospital, Principal of Viet Duc College of Medicine and Biomedical Equipment; Mrs. Le Thi Kim Nhung – Head of Quality Management Department and hospital medical staff.

 

Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh – Deputy Director of Viet Duc University Hospital, Principal of Viet Duc College of Medicine and Biomedical Equipment said: In order to standardize the work process, awareness of the role and the need to apply ISO 9001, the hospital’s Board of Directors has decided to develop and apply the quality management system according to ISO 9001: 2015 for Viet Duc College of Medicine and Biomedical Equipment. As planned, the training on general awareness of the quality management system and the method of developing a quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015 is an important first step as a premise for implementation, application and maintenance the development of the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015.

 

 

Mrs. Vu Hong Dan shared that ISO 9001 brings educational units some benefits such as improving the reputation of the educational institution; Improving the satisfaction of students, parents, management organizations and society; Helping the educational unit operate the system better; Providing objective evidence for the management to make the right decisions; Forming a culture of continuous improvement in the organization; Creating cohesion among members. In addition, ISO 9001 also creates some special values for educational institutions, improves the teaching quality of lecturers thereby improving the school’s operational efficiency; Helping to create new quality control mechanisms or reinforce available models in educational units.

 

 

On June 24, 2022, the expert conducted a survey on the current operation of College; Based on the functions and tasks of the College. It has advised and proposed a list of documents of the Quality Management system according to ISO 9001: 2015 that needs to be built or improved. In the near future, the College will develop or enhance the quality management system documents and implement the document system to relevant units starting from September 15, 2022.
