Live-streaming surgery for exchange of experience between Viet Duc University Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, China took place successfully

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2019 and accepting the invitation of Prof. Dr. Chen Jun Qiang – Director of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University – China, within the framework of Surgical Week, Viet Duc University Hospital was the first and only guest to join the live-streaming surgery for exchange of experience on August which was happened in this Hospital on 16th,2022.
Attending this event, from Viet Duc University Hospital, there was Prof. Tran Binh Giang – Director, Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh – Deputy Director – Head of the Department of Upper Extremities surgery and Sports medicine; Dr. Duong Trong Hien MD.PhD – Head of the Department of Emergency Abdominal Surgery. From the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University – China, there were Prof. Chen Jun Qiang – Director, Prof. Ying Yan Ping – Deputy Director. In addition, there were a large number of doctors from the two hospitals to join.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Chen Jun Qiang emphasized that Viet Duc University Hospital was the first hospital has signed a MOU in 2019 until now, the two sides have built a close relationship. Based on the professional cooperation, the two hospitals have successfully organized several online exchanges in many fields, remote consultations, publishing the book..etc. The Surgical Week is an annual activity of the Hospital aiming to strengthen the surgical activities. This is a valuable opportunity to help the Hospital learn about advanced techniques from leading domestic and international hospitals.
Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh expressed his sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Chen Jun Qiang for his invitation. Besides, as a representative of Viet Duc University Hospital, he was so honored to participate this event and hoped that the two hospitals will jointly build many similar activities. Instead of concluding, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh wished the success of Surgical Week.
On the same day, Dr. Tan Xin Gan, Deputy Head of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University – China performed a gastrectomy for cancer with robotic harvest of lymph nodes.
The ceremony ended with the sincere promise of the representatives of the two hospitals that they would regularly organize similar exchange activities to enhance the opportunity to learn and cultivate more specialized techniques and improve the quality of patient care.
