Viet Duc University Hospital is a Center for consultation and treatment, training, scientific research, leading in healthcare, was assigned by the Ministry of Health as a head deploys many projects, meanwhile specifically focus on training activity, technique transferring, to enhance ability in medical treatment for medical staff of provincial level in order to resolve the overload issue for center hospitals. Lately, experts team of Viet Duc University Hospital led by Prof. Tran Binh Giang, MD, PhD – Director of hospital visited and worked at Nghe An Frienship General Hospital. From the Ministry of Health, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Anh, MA – Head of Communications and Reward Department has joined the delegation.

 

At the business trip, the delegates of Viet Duc Unversity Hospital had checked on site the facilities, equipment and technical receiving condition of Nghe An Friendship General Hospital:

Prof. Nguyen Van Huong, Director of Nghe An Friendship General Hospital shares: With the goal of building Nghe An Friendship General Hospital to become a prestigious medical examination and treatment facility, which meets the trust of people in Nghe An province and the North Central region, over the past years, the entire leaders and staff of hospital have always been determined and focused all their resources on implementing many new techniques, in which kidney removal and transplantation is one of the key techniques of the hospital. In the last 3 years, with the support and assistance from Viet Duc University Hospital experts, Nghe An Friendship General Hospital has been successfully performed many kidney transplantation.

 

Dr.Pham Hong Phuong, Vice Director of Nghe An Friendship General Hospital has reported the result of receiving Kidney transplantation technical package and proposed needs in the next time. According, on 10th July 2019, Viet Duc University Hospital and Nghe An Friendship General Hospital officially signed a contract on the transfer of Kidney transplant technique to Nghe An Friendship General Hospital. Nghe An Friendship General Hospital has sent 34  teams to Viet Duc University Hospital  for attending 12 training courses on techniques, procedures of Kidney transplantation. All the staff of Nghe An Friendship General Hospital has seriously participated and well completed training courses that were issued certificate as prescribed. During the transferring period there were many challenges due to the pandemic COVID-19 situation that has affected the transfer of Kidney transplantation procedure of hospitals; kidney transplant technique requires synchronous coordination of many departments, divisions and centers; donated organs source of 6 pairs are from living donors; not yet implement on organ transplantation from brain-dead donors; there is no organ transplant consultation unit. Regarding development orientation, it is necessary to improve and develop kidney transplant techniques at Nghe An Friendship General Hospital.   

 

 

At this trip, Prof. Tran Binh Giang, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital commented on the results of technical transfer, survery results to assess conditions to prepare for the upcoming technical transfer cooperation program. Accordingly, Nghe An Friendship General Hospital implements organ transplantation step by step, building a liver transplant roadmap first and then moving on to heart transplant; agreed on the policy of establishing the Organ Transplant Center at Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, promoting counseling on organ donation from brain-dead donors, resuscitation of brain-dead patients. Nghe An Friendship General Hospital ensures funding for procurement, additional equipment, consumables, infrastructure, etc., especially human resources for training and receiving packages. During this program, the representative of the Ministry of Health, the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, the Vinh City Party Committee, the Nghe An Department of Health, the Board of Directors of two hospitals witnessed the signing ceremony of the handover package stage 1 kidney transplant technique, stage 2 kidney transplant support and liver-heart transplant technique between Viet Duc University Hospital and Nghe An Friendship General Hospital.
