Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 931/BYT-BH dated February 28, 2022 of the Ministry of Health on guiding the pilot implementation of medical examination and treatment with health insurance using citizen identify cards with electronic chip; Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 3166/LN-BHXH-SYT dated July 28, 2022 of the Hanoi People’s Committee on promoting the pilot implementation of the use of citizen identify cards with electronic chip in medical examination and treatment; Viet Duc University Hospital has implemented medical examination and treatment with health insurance by citizen identify cards with electronic chip.

 

This is an activity being piloted at medical facilities, towards simplifying documents, minimizing the time to perform medical examination and treatment procedures for patients to meet practical benefits in patient management of medical facilities.

 

In the past, when going to hospital for examination, patients have to bring their health insurance card (HI) and ID card or driver’s license for check and identify photos.

 

The implementation of medical examination and treatment covered by health insurance using identify card with electronic chip instead of the health insurance card and other identification documents brings many conveniences to people and saves time on registration procedures for medical examination and treatment.
