Back in history during the years of The Resistance War against the US, Quang Tri was a key area, a rare locality in the whole country imprinted with the footprints of most of the main armies, armed forces, Youth volunteer units, public fire workers… Quang Tri is considered as a “serious town“, a “border town“, a “phen dau”, a South “gateway” of Homeland, a severe “focal point” of the resistance wars against foreign invaders in the cradle of Center Vietnam that is full of the meaning of the two ends of the country, proud of its resilient revolutionary tradition, glorious victories in the resistance wars against the enemy invasion.

The delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital participated in the ceremony to offer flowers and incense to pay tribute to and remember the merits of heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, people who have made great contributions to the revolution for the national liberation, construction and defense of the Homeland at the National Martyrs Cemetery Road 9, relic site of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery. In a dignified and respectful atmosphere, the delegation spent a minute of silence, reviewed the historical struggle tradition, respectfully offered incense to commemorate the great merits of the heroes and martyrs who are the outstanding children of Quang Tri homeland heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Homeland.

The delegation visited the Hien Luong flagpole relic, which witnessed the pain of dividing the two regions and historical events associated with the struggle for national liberation and reunification of our army and people during the colonial period against the US – Wei. After the Geneva Accord was signed (July 20, 1954), our country was temporarily divided into two North-South regions, taking the 17th parallel (Ben Hai River) as the boundary, waiting for the time. In July 1956, general elections were held to unify the country. However, with the events caused by the destruction of the hostile forces, it took us 21 years (1975), with the blood and bones of soldiers and compatriots who poured down to gain independence and unification country.

Kept moving the journey, the Party Committee of Viet Duc University Hospital visited the commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in Vung Chua, Yen Island, Quang Binh.
