75th annivversary of The surgery faculty – Hanoi medical university

Later on October 6th, the Surgery Faculty – Hanoi Medical University celebrated the 75th anniversary of its establishment and development with the theme “Respect the past- Towards the future”. The Surgery Faculty has always been associated with the development history of Hanoi Medical University from its establishment and led by famous and prestigious professors in both Vietnam and in the world. The Surgery Faculty has successfully completed its tasks in tranining many generations of high-quality health workforce across country.
Surgery is one of the most important fields of medicine. There were many events and stories related to surgery which have been recorded in the international medical literatures. Some became the special events of the medicine in particular, as well as breakthroughs in science and technology at each period of world history.
By establishment and development process, up to now, the Surgery Faculty is the largest clinical department among 43 Faculties of Hanoi Medical University. The development of the Surgery Faculty is associated with practical medical facilities, the most prominent of which is Viet Duc University Hospital – a specialized medical center, ranked as a special specialty hospital, with 1500 beds and more than 2400 doctors and medical staff.
Speaking at the celebration, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health praised the dedication and enthusiasm of the staff as well as the results achieved in 75 years of establishment and development of the Surgery Faculty. The achievements of the Surgery Faculty are contributing to brightening the proud achievements of Hanoi Medical University on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the School’s Traditional Day. On this occasion, Mr. Tran Van Thuan – Deputy of the Ministry of Health emphasized that leaders and staff of the Surgery Faculty should continue to promote the glorious tradition, following in the footsteps of previous generations; access to new teaching methods in the world for effective training; promote scientific research and international cooperation…; develop high techniques in the fields of laparoscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, organ transplantation such as heart, liver, lung, kidney, orthopedic…
