The Prime minister H.E Pham Minh Chinh visits and wishes new year to patients, staff of Viet Duc universiy hospital on the occasion of 2023 lunar new year

Lunar New Year is an event for workers of many occupations to rest, reunite with their families, but for employees, medical staff, Tet holiday is rarely relaxed and celebrate New Year Eve has become very normal. To encourage the sprite of physicians, medical staff and patients who must stay at the hospital during Tet holiday, on the last day of Nham Dan Lunar Year 2022, the Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh leading one delegation visited patients, medical staff for wishing a happy new year on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2023.

From the Ministry of Health (MOH), there were: Mrs. Dao Hong Lan – Minister of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Tran Van Thuan – Vice Minister, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong – Vice Minister.

Welcoming the delegation there are Prof. Tran Binh Giang, MD, PhD – Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dong Van He, MD, PhD – Vice Director; Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Tho, MD, PhD – Vice Director; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh, MD, PhD – Vice Director and leaders of departments, divisions, centers, and institutions.

The delegation has visited and wished a happy new year to patients who were cared at Anesthesia and Surgical Resuscitation Center. The Prime Minister, the Minister of MOH participated and handed gifts over to patients with difficult circumstances at the hospital in the Tet of Love – Tet of Sharing program.

Prof. Tran Binh Giang, MD, PhD – Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital has reported to the Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation some achievements in last years, on behalf of the hospital. With the task assigned by the Government and the Ministry of Health as a special class surgical hospital, the medical staff have made great efforts with many achievements. The base hospital practices 15 universities and colleges of medicine and pharmacy annually, training 95 courses with nearly 5000 students. The hospital transferred many techniques at all levels, carried out many scientific research projects at the state, ministerial and city levels.  Viet Duc University Hospital is a training facility recognized and accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons – England. The hospital has many outstanding professional achievements with 47 heart transplants, 6 lung transplants, 1,742 kidney transplants, 107 liver transplants,   performed many advanced techniques in laparoscopic surgery and specialized surgeries. When the COVID-19 epidemic was spreading seriously, medical staff and doctors of Viet Duc University Hospital participated in the fight against to the epidemic at the front medical centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, and Hanoi.  Regarding the Tet duty, it is expected that the number of patients remaining until the 30th of Tet will be 600 patients.  With a total number of medical staff on emergency duty up to nearly 400 persons per day, the Board of Directors has assigned leadership, professional duty, professional consultation, logistics: security, electricity, water, sanitation. The hospital has a plan to have an out-of-hospital emergency team ready to provide aid to other units; Prepare a plan to prevent COVID 19, Influenza A and other infectious diseases

Speaking at the Program of “Tet of Love – Tet of Sharing” Quy Mao Spring 2023, the Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh emotionally expressed that being visited, shared the difficulties, challenges of physicians, doctors, medical staff and patients are staying at Viet Duc University Hospital. Representing the Government, the Prime Minister shares with the patient’s families are currently caring at the hospitals across the country, wishing the physicians with the spirit “ Kind Doctor as Good Mother ”, take care of patients with dedication, carefree, pure, so that the patients can rest assured, quickly recover back to work and family.

 

On New Year occasion, the Prime Minister sent to all employees, doctors, medical staff, and patients being treated at Viet Duc Hospital in particular, and all hospitals across the country with the warm, kind regards and best wishes for the new year.

In 2022, Viet Duc University Hospital mobilized more than 8.5 billion to support patients with difficulties.  The meaningful program “Tet of love – Tet of sharing” was held on the 30th of Tet with the spirit of “mutual love and affection“, “good leaves cover torn leaves“, many benefactors and sponsors joined hands, together with Viet Duc University Hospital, bring a happy Spring Festival to disadvantaged patients who are being treated at the hospital.  A new spring is coming very close.  Hopefully, the warm Tet gifts packed with love will bring expectations and dreams of the bests.  On this meaningful volunteer journey, Viet Duc University Hospital always appreciates and thanks the benevolent hearts of individuals and organizations across the country who have donated to patients, helped them be  more optimistic and confident to conquer the disease.
