The weather in northern Vietnam is in summer with peak heat waves. Sometimes, the temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius in many places affecting health. Facing with that situation, to proactively prevent people from hot weather when coming to the hospital for medical examination and treatment, Viet Duc University Hospital has actively implemented solutions to prevent the harmful effects of heat and protect people’s health.
As a special national surgical hospital, every day Viet Duc University Hospital receives thousands of patients. At the hospital’s examination area (building C4), patients are waiting queue and given a medical examination number from 6 AM, and there are a large-capacity steam fan and ceiling fan system in the seating area waiting for medical examination. When patients come for medical examination, they will be guided and explained by medical staff at the examination hall locations, reducing the hassle of administrative procedures, and minimizing the time for medical examination and treatment. At the same time, they also will be consulted to book an appointment through the hospital’s multi-channel online customer care center, the 19001902 switchboards, to reduce waiting time and shorten the medical examination and treatment process.
In clinical departments, the hospital has installed air conditioners in the room; fully arranged and installed electric fans to ensure that the patient is treated in comfortable conditions. A system of free hot and cold drinking water dispensers were set to help the patient and his family use it conveniently during their hospitalization.
Additionally, in the outdoor area, to reduce heat for the patient’s family during the waiting time, the hospital has installed a misting system in the waiting hall for medical examination (building D). A system of green trees covers the hospital, and two rows of green bonsai pots along both sides of the corridor, next to the rows of chairs, help patients to feel more comfortable when they wait for their turn to be examined.
