A 14 years old boy with testicular torsion is promptly saved

Recently, Andrology – Sexual Medicine Center – Viet Duc University Hospital just successfully emergency surgery for a teenage boy N.B.C (14 years old) admitted to hospital with pain from left testicle. Through investigation, patient was in pain from 3PM, family brings him to a medical facility and was concluded as left testicular inflammation then emergency at Viet Duc University Hospital at 10:30PM. Patient had clinical examination combines with testicular ultrasound that shows left testicle has no vein signal, doctors of Andrology Center diagnosed C. suffering from left testicular torsion. Quickly, patient had emergency and timely surgery to remove the torsion which helps to preserve testicles.

 

Dr. Nguyen Huu Thao – MD, who directly performed surgery for C. said: “Testicular torsion is the ultimate emergency disease in andrology. Examine, diagnose and early surgery help to preserve testicles.”

Last two weeks, Andrology Center, Viet Duc University Hopsital has taken in 5 patients diagnosed testicular torsion but come late so unfortunately can’t preserve testicles.

 

Experts recommend: Testicle pain is a symptom of testicular torsion so patient and family can’t be subjective. If the child has signs of testicular pain, it is necessary to go to the specialized doctor for diagnosis it soon at medical facilities, do not self-monitor and take medicine at home, the longer the torsion is left, the lower the chance of preserving testicles, greatly affect the fertility and psychological well-being of children.
