Conference of delegates of officials, staff and employees of Viet Duc University Hospital in 2020

On December 29^th, Viet Duc University Hospital solemnly organized the “Conference of Delegates of Officials, Staff and Employees in 2020” to evaluate the hospital’s activities in 2020 and to orientate the activities in 2021.

 

Attending the conference, on the side of Vietnam Health Union, there were Mrs. Pham Thanh Binh – Chair  and Mr. Hoang Xuan Thao – Head of Law and Policy Department.

 

On the side of Viet Duc University Hospital, there were Prof. Tran Binh Giang – Party Committee Secretary, Director of the hospital; Prof. Trinh Hong Son – Vice director; Ass. Prof. Dong Van He – Vice director; Ass. Prof. Tran Dinh Tho – Vice director.

 

Within the framework of the conference, there were the reports such as a general report on the activities of Viet Duc University Hospital in 2020, one on financial issue as well as other report of the People’s Inspection Committee for 2019 – 2021. During the conference democracy regulations, internal expenditure regulations were approved; The questions and comments from delegates were discussed and answered.  

 

Over the past years, with the attention of the Party and Government, the leadership of Ministry of Health, Viet Duc University Hospital has promoted the strength of a leading special-class hospital in surgery, always successfully complete all missions has been assigned including medical examination and treatment, high-tech development, training, scientific research, direction of health care activities, international cooperation, economic management, … and especially the reform of the service mechanism, creating the motivation for development, taking care of the lives of officers and employees so that they can feel secure to perform well their responsibilities and obligations towards the patient, deserve to be a true physician according to the teaching of beloved Uncle Ho Chi Minh “A good physician must be a gentle mother”.

 

With nearly 300 professors, PhD, masters levels and physicians in the fields of surgery, anesthesia, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, laboratory… trained domestically and abroad with high quality, and more than 1000 nurses, the hospital has successfully completed the task of medical examination and treatment, implemented specialized techniques and provided support to all levels.

 

Each year, the hospital performs more than seventy thousand surgeries, mainly serious and complicated cases of class 1 and special.

 

Many key techniques such as: multi-organ transplant from brain donors; heart, lung, liver, kidney transplant, … and other complex techniques are also deployed: laparoscopic surgery, skull brain surgery, orthopedic surgery, spinal surgery, application of modern techniques in resuscitation anesthesia, diagnostic imaging and modern laboratory tests, minimally invasive techniques contribute to effective diagnosis and treatment with less traumatic. These are all very proud achievements of the hospital and medicine in Vietnam.

 

As a leading hospital, in recent years, the hospital has successfully transferred the techniques of heart transplant, liver transplant, kidney transplant, … to many hospitals in the country such as Cho Ray Hospital, 108 Military Central Hospital, Vinmec Hospital, General Hospital of  Thanh Hoa province, General Hospital of Phu Tho province,…. and hundreds of technical packages have been transferred in the satellite hospital project.

 

In 2020, due to the complicated COVID-19 epidemic occurred, Viet Duc University Hospital has faced many difficult challenges. All units and staff have united in epidemic prevention and control, to ensure patient’s safety as well as their relatives and staff. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang – Director, the hospital has seriously and drastically implemented all directions and requests of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 epidemic prevention of the Ministry of Health. In particular, the hospital also actively creates effective measures to prevent, determined not to let the epidemic spread into the hospital.

 

Besides, the hospital is also a pioneer in emulation movements of the Ministry of Health and Vietnam Health Union. It was launched by the hospital continued to be deployed effectively, diversified and rich in form, with clear, specific, practical criteria and contents, stick to practical tasks, improve morale, service attitude, and arouse compassion for the community, combined with learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral have made a positive change in the hospital staff, so that they can voluntarily work to serve patients.

 

With the spirit of solidarity, every year, the hospital always organizes programs: charity, free medical examination and treatment in remote areas, in coordination with mass medias, charity organizations and philanthropists to call for support for disadvantaged patients with severe diseases who are being treated in hospitals.

 

During more than 110 years of construction and development, the Hospital has been awarded many noble titles and awards of states such as Ho Chi Minh Medal, First class Independence Medal, Second class Independence Medal, twice achieving title Hero of Labour…
