Conference on review of training, direction of health activities and Telemedicine project of Viet Duc University Hospital in 2022.

Strengthening the care, protection and improvement of health and quality of medical examination and treatment for the people and developing the grassroots health network is one of the priority tasks of the health sector. According to the Decision No. 14/2013 of the Prime Minister on the implementation of the definite-time rotation regime for practitioners at medical examination and treatment establishments; The Ministry of Health, the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities as well as the central key hospitals, including Viet Duc University Hospital, have actively implemented many solutions for Projects such as: 1816, Satellite Hospital, Telemedicine… achieved remarkable results for example, so many hospitals have been renovated and built; increase the number of hospital beds at central and provincial hospitals. The situation of grafting in hospitals has improved markedly; hospitals have mastered and regularly implemented the techniques transferred by these hospitals, and the referral rate decreased from 100% to only 5-10%.
Aiming the evaluation of the results of training and direction of health activities (DOHA) as well as finding the challenges and opportunities in implementing these activities, on second December 2022, Viet Duc University Hospital organized conference on “ Review of training, DOHA and Telemedicine project in 2022”.
Participating the Conference, from the Ministry of Health, Assoc. Prof. Luong Ngoc Khue, MD, PhD – Head of Department of Medical Service Administration; Mr. Cao Hung Thai, PhD, Deputy head of Department of Medical Service Administration.
At Viet Duc University Hospital side, there were Prof. Tran Binh Giang – Director of hospital; Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Tho – Vice Director; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh – Vice Director together with leader of departments/divisions/centers/institutes.
There were also many leader representatives and doctors of Ha Giang General Provincial Hospital to join online.
At the conference, Prof. Tran Binh Giang, MD, PhD – Director of Viet Duc University Hospital shared: Viet Duc University Hospital is trusted by the Ministry of Health to be tasked with training medical human resources, providing support and direction specializes in Surgery, Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Diagnostic Imaging through projects, DOHA. 2022 is a year full of difficulties due to the pandemic and many changes in the mechanism of health sector. Facing these difficulties, the leadership team and all staff of Viet Duc University Hospital remained united, ensuring the operation of the hospital in general as well as the training – DOHA in specific.
For training and technology transfer results: Organized 102 training courses for 2,519 trainees; About Institute-School Coordination Training: is the practice base of many medical and pharmaceutical educational institutions, such as Hanoi Medical University, Nam Dinh University of Nursing, University of Medicine and Pharmacy – Hanoi National University… The hospital maintains from 2500-3000 turns of students and trainees from educational institutions to do clerkship in hospital; About training according to the needs and technology transfer: 06 packages on kidney transplant, heart transplant, PET – CT, … to the Hospital of University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, Nghe An General Friendship Hospital… with more than 140 turns of students; Regarding the development of curriculum programs and teaching materials: In 2022 alone, the hospital has developed 10 programs and documentation. Reviewed, updated, edited and add to 20 programs for training and technology transfer. Currently, there are more than 200 programs well approved; Also Viet Duc Medical and Equipment College officially came into operation, welcoming more than 150 students in the first academic year.
On DOHA results, 1816, Telemedicine Project: Promoting business trips to survey unit needs. With 18 business trips and more than 200 experts visit to provincial and district hospitals to survey and evaluate the effectiveness of the project and the needs of the units; Organized 03 training courses, technical transfer for 33 students of local hospitals; Organized more than 90 online consultation sessions, including 54 regular sessions for doctors and nurses and 10 conferences and seminars… The project of Telemedicine as a bright spot in Vietnam medical activities during the Covid-19 outbreak. Viet Duc University Hospital actively developed the hospital’s project, organized the opening of a remote medical examination and consultation center on September 4, 2020.

This activity contributes to the improvement of examination, treatment quality, brings health technical services closer to the people, ensure the equality in health services access and meet the needs of people in examination, treatment that are increasing, reduce the overload situation for National level Hospital.
