Director of Viet Duc University Hospital received “Labor Hero reform era” reward

Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang is one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgical techniques in Vietnam; There are many important contributions to the development of medical unit and health sector by bringing advances in laparoscopic surgery to treat a number of abdominal diseases, applying advanced techniques in treatment of organ injuries.

 

On 24th December,2020, Viet Duc University Hospital held a ceremony to welcome the title of Labor Hero of reform era and other forms of state-level commendation for collectives and individuals.

 

At the ceremony, on behalf of Party and State leaders, Mrs. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – Vice State President – First Vice Chairman of Central Emulation Council – awarded the title of Labor Hero of reform era to Prof. Tran Binh Giang, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital, for his exceptional achievements in labor and creativity, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the country between 2009 – 2019; awarded First, Second, and Third Class Labor Medals to individuals and collectives of hospital.

Mrs. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – Vice State President, awarded the noble titles of the Party and State to individuals and collectives of Viet Duc University Hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Thanh Long, Minister of Ministry of Health, congratulated Prof. Tran Binh Giang and individuals and collectives of Viet Duc University Hospital on receiving noble honors.

 

“Party and State conferred the noble title “Labor Hero reform era” for Prof. Tran Binh Giang is recognition enterprising spirit, creative in professional work and managing and operating a leading Special-class hospital in surgery” – The Minister emphasized.

 

At the same time, the head of health sector wishes that Viet Duc University Hospital team will continue to unite and strive; technical development; innovating professional and whole-hearted service styles for patients; promote scientific research and training and international cooperation; deserving to be the trusted place for patients, the loved one of Party, State, Ministry of Health and people.

 

Minister of Ministry of Health Nguyen Thanh Long confirmed that: Over 110 years of establish, grow and develop, receive the attention of Party and State, Viet Duc University Hospital has promoted its strengths, always accomplished missions of examination and treatment, developed high techniques, training staff, scientific research, directing, international cooperation, economic management… Especially, hospital has renewed its service mechanism, created a driving force for development, cared for employees lives so that physicians can fulfill their duties and responsibilities well towards patients, deserve to be a physician of people, as taught by beloved Uncle Ho during his life: “A physician is like a gentle mother”.

Each year, hospital operates about 70,000 cases. Many key techniques have been deployed such as: Multi-organ transplant from brain-dead donors, heart, lung, liver, kidney transplant … Many other complex techniques are deployed and put into routine such as laparoscopic surgery, neurology, orthopedic, spine, application of modern techniques in resuscitation and anesthesia, diagnostic imaging and modern laboratory tests, minimal intervention techniques contribute to diagnosis and effective treatment with less lesions for patients. These are all very proud achievements of hospital and Vietnam medical sector.

In 2020, due to complicated development of COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital has faced difficult challenges. Units, staff, physicians, health workers, employees have united, unanimously, join forces in epidemic prevention and control, ensuring safety for patients, family members and safety for staff of the hospital. Under the direction of Prof. Tran Binh Giang, hospital has seriously and drastically implemented all directives and requirements of National Steering Committee on epidemic prevention and control and Ministry of Health. In particular, the hospital actively creates many measures to prevent epidemics in the most effective way, determined not to let the epidemic spread into the hospital.

 

Besides performing well professional work, Viet Duc University Hospital is always the leading flag in emulation movements of Ministry of Health, Vietnam Health Union. Emulation movements created by hospital continued to be implemented effectively and in depth, diversified and rich forms, with clear, specific, practical criteria and practical service contents, improving morale, service attitude, arousing human compassion for community, combined with learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example have created a positive change in the whole hospital’s civil servant ministry, so that employees can voluntarily work to serve patients.
