Humanitarian blood donation festival 2019: A drop of blood donated, a life to stay

Viet Duc University Hospital is specialized on surgery hospital which performs 65,000 surgeries every year and requires about 40,000 units of blood, most of whom are emergency due to traffic accidents, occupational accidents, and leisure accidents. Due to that fact, the need to use blood sources to provide for patients is extremely urgent.
In response to the spirit of humanitarian blood donation, on September 21, 2019, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union cooperated with Viet Duc University Hospital to organize a Blood Donation Day among staff, union members, employees and others in Ha Noi for the second time.
Attending the ceremony: On the side of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor: Mrs. Vu Thi Loan – Deputy Head of Socio-Economic Policy and Emulation and Reward Department of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
From Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group: Mr. Le Tien Truong – Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, General Director of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group; Mrs. Kieu Thi Thuy – First Deputy Secretary of Youth Union of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group; Mr. Le Nho Thang – Member of Executive Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong – Vice president of Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union; Mrs. Pham Thi Thanh Tam – Vice president of Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union.

Blood donation festival of Vietnam Textile and Garment industry is expected to collect 400 blood units. The program has become a message of great honor and strong spread to the community with the meaning of “A drop of blood giving a life to stay”.
Earlier, in November 2018, Viet Duc University Hospital and Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate propaganda, advocacy and organization of voluntary blood donation under programs between the two units are essential steps to join hands to support patients, improve service quality and bring a better life.
