Memorandum of Understanding has signed between Viet Duc University Hospital and Saxion University of Applied Sciences

On May 31, 2022, the delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital led by Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang – Director of the Hospital had a business trip to the Netherlands for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Saxion University of Applied Sciences, to promote training, research and exchange of experiences among staff and students.

 

On September 21, 2020, after a period of discussion and negotiation, Viet Duc University Hospital and Saxion University of Applied Sciences had signed a MOU of cooperation opportunity in future. The signing ceremony was held extremely solemnly by the online. Although from 2020 to 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic was complicated and caused disruption of many international activities, including implementation of activities according to the MOU content. However, two sides have tried the best to find an appropriate cooperation way in the situation of global travel restrictions for the following activities: discussions via online to develop future plan of cooperation and to prepare exchanged students. Especially, the hospital supervised remotely for two nursing students from Saxion University of Applied Sciences to conduct a scientific research project manely ” Providing post-surgical health education to patients with total hip replacement and their families for caring at home” that was completed by the end of 2021.

 

In March 2022, Viet Duc College of Medicine and Equipment under the Viet Duc University Hospital was established with the task of training for nurses and technicians. Therefore, to continue and promoted the cooperation in education, research and exchange of experiences, Saxion University of Applied Sciences; Viet Duc University Hospital and Viet Duc College of Medicine and Equipment under the Viet Duc University Hospital has signed a new MOU for replacing the old MOU.

 

During the business trip, the delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital and Viet Duc College of Medicine and Equipment signed a new MOU with the University of Applied Sciences. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Anka Mulder, President of the Executive Board of Saxion University; Prof. Tran Binh Giang, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Principal of Viet Duc College of Medicine and Equipment.

The objectives of this MOU are to develop cooperation and promote mutual understanding and excellence in practice-based education, research and knowledge exchange among the Parties; exchange of staff, students and mutual visits to pursue research and to lecture; exchange of students and/or abroad study tour and other enhancements to the student’s experience; exploiting opportunities for collaborative researches and development; identifying opportunities for lecturing and organizing .seminar/symposium and conferences; promoting collaboration in fields of mutual interest; promoting other academic cooperation based on mutual agreement; cooperate in education, research and knowledge exchange with the same dedication which they treat the task and responsibility of their own institution within the competence of each Party, and discuss the activities and the results of the cooperation and the steps to be made for the future every year.

 

After the MOU signing ceremony, the delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital visited the Department of Nursing and Rehabilitation at  Saxion University of Applied Sciences and explored the training program and the simulation center.

The delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital also visited Medical Spectrum Twente hospital and was introduced to clinical training at the hospital, the application of 3D printing technology in surgery (3D images) and health education communication (Positive Health, Lifestyle and Leadership).
