Nearly 200 participants from all over the country attended the virtual workshop on optimal asthetic outcome with the new generation of breast implants

As society develops, the demand for beauty also increases. Augmentation mammoplasty has become familiar to women. Augmentation mammoplasty with implants is one of the most optimal and modern method trusted by women. The advancement of breast implant generations along with the high expertise of surgeons help women safely achieve the beautiful body they desire.

 

On May 28th, 2021, the Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center collaborated with the Department of Maxillofacial, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Viet Duc University Hospital, (VDUH) to organized The virtual workshop on optimal aesthetic outcome with the new generation of breast implants. The workshop provided up-to-date knowledge in the aesthetic field with breast implants, thereby improving the quality of life for women.

 

Attending the workshop, on the side of VDUH, there were Prof. Tran Binh Giang MD,PhD, Director of the hospital;  Assoc. Prof Nguyen Hong Ha MD, PhD, Chief of the Department of Maxillofacial – Plastic – Aesthetic Surgery. On the side of the co-organizer, there was Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Business Unit Head MDD, Johnson & Johnson (Viet Nam) Co., Ltd.

 

 

The workshop gathered speakers who are top experts in the field of  aesthetic – plastic surgery both domestic and abroad. Dr. David Caplin, from University of Washington – School of Medicine, USA is one of the most experienced surgeons with using breast implants in the US in the FDA’s clinical trials program, as well as many country-wide studies, to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new generation of breast implants, especially Mentor MemoryShape (CPG). His researches have been widely published worldwide. Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Hong Ha MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Maxillofacial – Plastic – Aesthetic Surgery, VDUH, has had more than 25 years of experience in the field of plastic surgery. He is a visiting professor at the Department of Plastic Surgery of some top American Universities such as MayO Clinic and has published more than 100 papers in international and domestic scientific journals in this field. Dr. Visnu Lohsiriwat, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand has 15 years of experience in the field of plastic surgery, has more than 150 lectures and has been invited to be an international speaker in 16 countries across Asia Pacific and Europe. He is also the principal investigator/co-researcher of more than 40 publications of international medical journals and over 20 international book chapters. Currently, Dr. Visnu Lohsiriwat is the general Secretary of the International Oncoplastic Breast Society (IOPBS).

 

 

At the workshop, the attendees gained Dr. David Caplin’s presentation for “Advances in breast implant technology: MemoryGel Xtra breast implants”; Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Hong Ha sharing “Update knowledge and handle complications in augmentation mammoplasty”; Dr. Visnu Lohsiriwat’s presentation on “Perspectives and experiences with MemoryGel Xtra breast implants to improve aesthetic outcome”.

 

The workshop was successful. In the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, the virtual workshop gave an opportunity for colleagues from all over the country to learn and improve knowledge with top experts around the world.
