A 40-year-old male patient, Lang Son resident , was admitted to Viet Duc University Hospital for hematuria, purple swelling of the entire penis, large hematoma in the scrotum. He was diagnosed a broken cavernous due to having sex in the wrong position.

On May 15, the patient was indicated for operation on surgery, to repair the white fibrous tissue of corpora cavernosa and to shape the urethra.

Doctor Nguyen Duy Khanh – Center of Andrology, Viet Duc University Hospital shared: one day after surgery, the patient was stable, but he will have to face many complications such as penile deformity, impotence, urethral stricture, urine leakage.

Doctors re-examined patient after surgery.

Within the past one month, at the Center of Andrology, there were 5 cases of corpora cavernosa rupture due to sexual intercourse in the wrong position. Doctors recommend: Sex in the wrong position is the leading risk group of damage of penis because men often rush to bring the penis out of the vagina, into hard areas such as the hips, pelvis, and pubes area of the partner, causing the penis to bend, and hurt the urethra which is very difficult during the treatment process.

Therefore, men need to be careful when having sex, avoid strange positions or unsafe actions, which can easily lead to accidents. When there are signs of penile fracture, do not be shy, hesitate, need to immediately go to well-known medical facilities for timely intervention and treatment in helping “little boy” to avoid any further complications, caused the difficulties for management, and consequences later on.
