Thanks to the dedicated treatment and care from the doctors of the Center of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care, the Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Surgery, Viet Duc University Hospital (VDUH), along with the joint help of benefactors, on March 9, pediatric patient Bon Van On, 2 years old, Dao ethnic group, in Ban Nghe, Yen Cuong commune, Bac Me district, Ha Giang province – the boy was once gored by a buffalo, fell into a deep coma, underwent a mechanical ventilation was discharged from the hospital and returned to reunite with his family.

As the information has given, when following mother to herd the buffalo, the boy Bon Van On was gored, and suffered from a traumatic brain injury. Taking the child to the hospital, his parents had only 1.5 million VND. The image of a 2-year-old baby with a young face lying motionless on the hospital bed made everyone feel compassionate. Upon receiving the information, the Social Work Department – VDUH raise benefactors to join hands to help the family has no money for caring their child. Sympathizing with the fate of the child who suffered a lot of pain when he was only 2 years old, benefactors supported his family with a total amount of 317,137,000 VND and a free ride to Ha Giang.

For parents of this boy, their son was healthy and was discharged from the hospital after seemingly hopeless days like a dream. “During the time my son was hospitalizing, we have received a lot of support both physically and mentally from doctors and others. We don’t know what to say, thank you very much. My husband and I promise to try to take better care of our children and give them a nice life”, shared Mrs. Dan Thi Hiep – the boy’s mother.            Receiving the love of the benefactors, Mr. Bon Van Danh – his father could not hold back his emotion. He said he didn’t even dream of having so much support from the community. On the day of discharge, the parents also gave patient Vi Quynh Diem, 4 years old, with thalassemia (inherited blood disorder) an amount of 10,000,000 VND with the hope that Diem will recover and be discharged soon.

With the help of benefactors, parents of the boy gave to patient Vi Quynh Diem, 4 years old, with thalassemia (inherited blood disorder) 10,000,000 VND.

Giving love will definitely get joy and happiness in return. A joyful life in Ban Nghe village begins with the boy and his family. We would like to thank the doctors of VDUH for their dedication for treating the patient. Thank you to all the kind hearts who have joined hands with the hospital to save patients and unfold new pages of “life” for patients in difficult circumstances.
