“The era of minimally invasive treatment: The role of large coil in the intervention of some vascular diseases”: A scientific conference of high practical value has just been successfully held at Viet Duc University Hospital.
The technique of embolization of brain aneurysms with metal coils (Coil) is a high technique. In the world, this method has been proven to be successful in the treatment of diseases related to nerves and blood vessels, but in Vietnam this method is still quite new and has not been widely deployed.
To upgrade knowledge and sharing experiences in diagnosing and treatment of vascular diseases for doctors at Viet Duc Univerdity Hospital as well as doctors in the region, recently, the Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center in collaboration with the Medical imaging & Nuclear medicine center of Viet Duc Univerdity Hospital has organized the scientific conference “The era of minimally invasive treatment: The role of large coils in the intervention of some vascular diseases”.
Attending the conference was Dr. Le Thanh Dung, MD, PhD, Chief of the Medical imaging & Nuclear medicine center – Chaired the workshop; Dr. Nguyen Dinh Minh, MD, PhD, Deputy Chief of the Medical imaging & Nuclear medicine center; Dr. Tao Minh Chau, MD, MSc, Deputy Chief of the Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center and doctors from Centers/Departments of hospitals and other hospitals in the region.
Within the conference, all medical experts presented and discussed scientific topics of high practical value such as: Using coils in endovascular intervention: tips and tricks; Using ruby coil in interventional treatment of craniofacial – maxillofacial vascular disease; Experience in using a ruby coil for interventional treatment of visceral aneurysms; Set up simulation models on actual clinical cases and interventions under DSA.
Sharing at the conference, Dr. Le Thanh Dung, MD, PhD Chief of the Medical imaging & Nuclear medicine center, Viet Duc Univerdity Hospital emphasized: Along with the progress of the imaging field, angiography and vascular intervention are increasingly developing and opening a new direction in the field of medicine. The medicine helps to effectively treat patients, thereby limiting the risks and complications in surgery, and can treat some cases of diseases that seem to be no longer indicated. Up to now, the angiography and vascular intervention department of Viet Duc Univerdity Hospital has implemented vascular intervention techniques from simple to complex, bringing safe and effective treatment results to patients.
The seminar program ended successfully, bringing useful knowledge, sharing valuable experiences to apply in practice, and contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and people’s health care.
