The first hospital under the Ministry of Health re-recognized as a Special Class Hospital in 2021

GiadinhNet – Viet Duc University Hospital (VDUH) was the first hospital under the Ministry of Health to be re-recognized as a Special Class Hospital in 2021 with strict criteria maintained.

 

In the afternoon of April 20^th, VDUH organized a announcement ceremony of Special Class Hospital, handing over the Global Accreditation of The Royal College of Surgeons of England in collaboration with Facing the World and launching the Telemedicine system under the ODA project of the German Government.

 

Viet Duc University Hospital is considered to be the leading center for medical examination, treatment as well as a provider for high-level medical training, scientific research and advanced medicine with state-of-the-art equipment. Each year, the hospital performs more than 70,000 surgeries, mostly severe and complicated cases.

 

This is the first division under the Ministry of Health to be re-recognized as a Special Class Hospital in 2021 with rigorous criteria maintained.

 

The hospital is the leading institution in the country to successfully implement multi-organ transplant, liver transplant, heart transplant, kidney transplant, lung transplant…. and deployed many medical services to improve quality of service, aiming for patient satisfaction in providing health examination services, on-demand examination, health insurance…

 

 

This is the second consecutive time that VUDH has been recognized as a Special Class Hospital by the Ministry of Home Affairs after the first time in 2015.

 

Currently, there are 5 special class hospitals, including 4 hospitals under the Ministry of Health (the exception being 108 Military Central Hospital): Bach Mai hospital, VUDH, Cho Ray hospital and Hue Central hospital. VUDH was the first medical facility under the Ministry of Health to be re-recognized the Special Class Hospital in 2021 with strict criteria still maintained.

 

Prof. Tran Binh Giang – Director of VUDH stated that the three events held in the afternoon of April 20^th confirmed the hospital’s importance in Vietnam’s highly qualified medical system, not only at the national level, but also beginning to integrate into international medicine.

 

With quality of medical examination and treatment, scientific research and standard training together with the telemedicine system, physicians and experts will have the best conditions to spread the values ​​and training opportunities, more specialist physicians for hospitals throughout the country as well as academic exchanges with international colleagues.
