Viet Duc University Hospital actively joins the national health sector in fighting career “pandemic prevention just like fighting enemies”

21^st July 2021 Prof. Nguyen Buu Trieu, a mentor of many generations of Vietnamese physicians with his lady came for Covid-19 vaccination at Viet Duc University Hospital. They are maybe the oldest “couple” that came for Covid-19 vaccination at hospital. He is 99 and she is 91 years of age. Despite of their greater ages, both him and her are still lucid, healthy; They were talking happily, encouraging pupils and were so glad about the development of hospital in recent years.

 

Prof. Tran Binh Giang – Director of Viet Duc University Hospital shares: As a leading specialty hospital, surgical and anesthesia center nationwide, the main missions of Viet Duc University Hospital are examination, treatment, researching, in-depth training within surgery field. Nevertheless, with the spreading of Covid-19 pandemic, physicians and staff of hospital were enthusiastically join together with the national health industry in fighting career “pandemic prevention just like fighting enemies”.

 

According to the request of the Ministry of Health, hospital has displayed more than 350 doctors, nurses, technicians to set up the Intensive Care Center for Covid-19 patients in Ho Chi Minh city from the end of July 2021. Up to now, the Center has provided emergency treatment, saved many seriously ill patients, contributed with colleagues in Ho Chi Minh city to win and repel the pandemic.

 

Viet Duc University Hospital has been actively participated in Covid-19 vaccination for employees and citizens. With the strength of being an anesthetic resuscitation center along with in-depth doctors and medical staff, modern facility, and equipment, synchronize, hospital is a vaccination place for high-risk cases that cannot vaccinate at lower level.

 

“During the past time, hospital has been vaccinating for almost 33.000 persons safely, including more than 250 veterans, many are retired generals and senior officers, old and weak, wounded soldiers of the Central Vietnam Veterans Association and more than 2500 elderly people with co-morbidities problems or high risks from residential area of Hoan Kiem dist.” Prof. Giang added.
