Viet Duc University Hospital surveyed and evaluated the Direction of Healthcare Activities (DOHA) in Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital

Recently, the delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital led by Prof. Tran Binh Giang visited and worked about training, directing and surveying the conditions for receiving new techniques in Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital.

Joining the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, MD, PhD, Deputy Director of Viet Duc University Hospital and experts of the hospital in different specialties such as gastroenterology, urology, spine surgery, anesthesiology and resuscitation, trauma, etc. Welcoming the delegation, there were Dr. Hoang Van Hung, second specialized doctor – Director of Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital and Director Board, leaders of functional departments.

During this visit, the delegation of Viet Duc University Hospital conducted a survey and assessment of the facilities and equipment (specializing in Surgery, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Diagnostic Imaging) and ability to receive technical packages of Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital (in terms of human resources and equipment); Checking online activities, Checking hospital’s direction activities in 2022 and plans for 2023.

 Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital is a provincial hospital level I affiliated the Hung Yen Department of Health with more than 1000 beds. The hospital has performed a number of outstanding techniques such as: Radiation therapy, chemotherapy for cancer; Interventional coronary stenting; Bio-cement surgery to shape the vertebral body; Hip and knee replacement surgery; Renal lithotripsy with a flexible tube and laser; Embolization therapy for tumors (liver, prostate, breast, uterine fibroids, …). In 2022, Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital has received training and technical transfer support from projects 1816, remote medical examination and treatment projects, and the directing work of central-level hospitals. The trainees were provided the training/technology transfer from Viet Duc University Hospital in following topics: Basic hemodialysis; MRI:  techniques and diagnosis; Laparoscopic surgery to remove an enlarged prostate gland”; “Training: Laparoscopic surgery for inguinal hernia”; “Ultrasound-guided supraclavicular plexus anesthesia”.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Tran Binh Giang, MD, PhD – Director of Viet Duc University Hospital highly appreciated the achievements and development potential of Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital, and shared experiences in the field of cooperation and training to achieve optimal efficiency.

A signing ceremony of survey minutes also was took place between Viet Duc University Hospital and Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital. The cooperation between the two hospitals will help patients to be examined and treated by the central hospital in the locality for saving costs and reducing the load on central hospitals.
