Viet Duc University Hospital surveyed and evaluated the DOHA at Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital

In order to support and improve medical examination and treatment capacity for provincial medical staff and reduce overload at central hospitals, recently, the Viet Duc University Hospital delegation led by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of the Hospital, joined a business trip to Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital for evaluating the DOHA.

At the meeting, Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Manh Khanh – Deputy Director of Viet Duc University Hospital briefly introduced the plan to work and evaluate the DOHA (Professional support, direction of health activities…) and the annual activity plan 2023 and 2024. Representative of Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital reported on the hospital’s medical examination and treatment activities, hospital’s DOHA as well as the needs to be specialized in some areas asking for supports.

After the on site evaluation, the experts made a report for Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital: For the spine specialty- the equipment meets the needs of basic surgery, however it should be provided more for other surgeries; For anesthesia and resuscitation: adequate equipment and human resources to perform the techniques, but to ensure that medical staff have appropriate certificates, and supplement monitoring equipment for pain control; Diagnostic imaging: the hospital has enough equipment and human resources to perform the techniques, and agrees to train and transfer techniques as needed; Neurology: the needs for some surgeries is not much, it is necessary to consider transferring and adding some equipment; Urology: equipment and human resources ensure the implementation of basic and advanced techniques, however, noted that the number of patients and coordinated specialties is not yet guaranteed; Tissue bank: development of procedures for transporting tissue to Viet Duc University Hospital for preservation to ensure quality, proposing cooperation in providing surgical tissue materials to Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital.

Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of Viet Duc University Hospital, gave a speech in summarizing the survey results at Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital: Basically, the facilities and infrastructure are guaranteed to implement the techniques; Highly appreciated the achievement of DOHA of Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital in 2022 and 2023. On behalf of delegation, he agreed with the hospital’s plan for DOHA in 2023 and 2024, and the request proposed for support for technical packages in specialties such as spine surgery, diagnostic imaging, and anesthesia. resuscitation… according to Project 1816 and Telemedicine Project.
