Workshop on the initial implementation of the LEAN project in several clinics.

Based on the implementation plan of the task “Research and application of simple management methods integrating digitalization of medical examination and treatment services in 2022-2023”, after a period of the pilot implementation of the LEAN project in 3 clinics of Viet Duc University Hospital including Outpatient and Emergency Department, Cardiovascular and thoracic Clinic, and On-demand service for Spine Surgery, research teams identified problems, measure and analyze risks and errors, and also find out the solutions to rapidly improve the outpatient examination process. At “The workshop on the initial implementation results of the LEAN project in several clinics“, the research groups will report the results and discuss some solutions for rapid improvement.

 

Attending the workshop, from the Vietnam Productivity Institute, there were MSc Vu Hong Dan, Head of Consulting Department, and Mr. Vu Hong Quan. On the side of Viet Duc University Hospital, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Tho, Vice Director of Viet Duc University Hospital as well as leaders of departments and medical staff participating in the LEAN project at the hospital.

 

At the workshop, MSc Le Thi Kim Nhung – Head of the Quality Management Department gave a brief introduction to the national tasks, scope, methods and progress of implementation of LEAN has conducted at Viet Duc University Hospital.

Members of research groups presented the initial pilot implementation of the LEAN project with the sub-project of improving the medical examination process at Outpatients and Emergency Department at Viet Duc University Hospital (MSc Phi Thi Mai Chi), at the Cardiovascular and thoracic Clinic (MSc Nguyen Xuan Vinh) and at the On-demand service for Spine Surgery (MSc Tran Thi An).

MSc Phi Thi Mai Chi reported the project of improving the medical examination process at the Outpatient and Emergency Department.

MSc Nguyen Xuan Vinh presented the project of improving the medical examination process at the Cardiovascular and thoracic Clinic.

 

Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital said: Conducting the project “Research and application of lean management methods integrating digitalization of medical examination and treatment services in 2022-2023” is a practical and important scientific research task. It will bring good results for medical examination and treatment for public hospitals in general and Viet Duc University Hospital in particular.
