Young man from the Capital Police donated blood and platelets to help patients in need of urgent surgery

Right after receiving information from Viet Duc University Hospital that an 8-year-old patient with thalassemia disease needed urgent splenectomy due to swelling of the spleen and it’s at risk of rupture, the Capital Police Youth Volunteer Blood Donation Quick Response Club directed a quick review of the donating system and proactively contacted the patient’s family to visit and help.
Early in the morning of August 16th, Captain Ngo Bao Trung, Secretary of the Trang Tien Ward Police Union (Hoan Kiem District Police) was present at Viet Duc University Hospital to donate blood to save an 8-year-old patient.
Previously, on the afternoon of July 31st, we received information from the Youth Union of the People’s Police Academy that a 66-year-old patient receiving emergency treatment for multiple injuries at Viet Duc University Hospital urgently needed the rare blood type B Rh+ for surgery; Lieutenant Nguyen Huy Hoang – Vice Chairman of the Quick Response Voluntary Blood Donation Club Youth of the Capital Police braved the rain and urgently went to Viet Duc University Hospital for a health check and directly donated blood to help the patient to continue his treatment.
At the same time, at the fixed blood donation point at Room 132, building C2 of Viet Duc University Hospital, young soldiers of the Capital Police have been informed that another patient also urgently needed platelets for resuscitation from multi-trauma emergency care. Faced with an urgent situation, Captain Cao Ngoc Tuyen, Secretary of the Branch of the Criminal Engineering Department of CATP, was quickly present at the hospital to donate his platelets to save lives.
Both comrades Nguyen Huy Hoang and Cao Ngoc Tuyen have donated blood and platelets for 15 times. The noble gesture of the Capital Police Youth promptly helped the sick, sharing the hardships of the patients and their families.
At Viet Duc University Hospital – Special Surgical Hospital, which regularly receives cases of traffic accidents, occupational accidents and many other complex diseases, there are many patients who are facing the threshold of death. The fragile border between life and death, desperately needing drops of red blood to save their lives. Thank you for the beautiful actions of the People’s Police soldiers, thank you for the loving hearts who gave priceless gifts to help patients overcome illness and return to reunite with their families soon.
