Instructions for patient coming to Viet Duc University Hospital for medical examination and treatment in the “new normal status

After completing medical isolation for preventing and controlling pandemic; in the morning on October 18th, 2021, Viet Duc University Hospital has officially opened to receive, examine and treat the patients. For medical examination, treatment and pandemic prevention at the new stage, hospital safety is still top priority to ensure patient safety, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment along with safety when preventing pandemic. The hospital has implemented synchronous measures to prevent epidemics so the people can feel secure when coming to the hospital. The patients will be instructed and follow the flow when coming to the hospital for examination and treatment, check their body temperature, comply 5K message, keep distance, and make electronic medical declarations by scanning QR-codes.
1. For outpatient
1.1 The patient has no cough, fever, difficulty breathing or does not come from pandemic area
Patients go to outpatient clinic at gate 8 (16 Phu Doan). All patients and family members are tested for COVID-19 antigen at the screening area before entering the hospital.
1.2 The patient has cough, fever, difficulty breathing or comes from pandemic area
For patients who have symptoms such as cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, chest tightness, shortness of breath, body aches and have been in contact with a suspected COVID-19 patient, they are directed to go to Gate 3 (No. 8 Phu Doan).
Here, the Hospital will set an examination room for patients at high risk and conduct RT-PCR sampling. In case of negative result, they will be instructed to go to outpatient clinic at B9 building. In case of positive result, they will be separately threaded to B5 building for further treatment.
2. For inpatients
When the patient is indicated for admitting, RT-PCR test will be conducted for both the patient and family. While waiting for the results, the patient will be isolated in the “inner room” of patient wards before arranging officially admitted.
The hospital continues using the customer care switchboard for booking appointment, conducts medical examination on Saturdays to keep distance of patients, limits the number of visitors during the day, and avoids gathering large amount of people at one time in one area.
